This Privacy Policy explains how information about you is collected, used, and disclosed when you use the Rotation Tournaments plugin and associated mobile application (collectively, "the Service"). This policy applies to the data processed through the WordPress website where this plugin is installed.
1. Data Controller
The Rotation Tournaments plugin stores all its data, including personal information, on a server chosen by the administrator of the website where the plugin is installed. Therefore, the primary Data Controller is the Administrator of the website you are using. The developers of the Rotation Tournaments plugin do not have access to or control over your personal data.
2. Information We Collect
The Service utilizes the existing WordPress user database. When you register on the website or your account is created, we collect and store the following information:
- First Name and Last Name
- Email Address
- Phone Number
- Display Name: By default, this is created by combining your first and last name. You have full control to change this in your user profile.
3. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used for the following purposes:
- To register you as a player in tournaments.
- To display your name and progress within a tournament.
- To allow tournament organizers to manage events.
- To allow you and other authorized players to input match results.
4. Data Security and Storage
All data is stored in the WordPress database on the server chosen by the website administrator. The level of security for this database is the sole responsibility of the website administrator. The Rotation Tournaments plugin does not provide its own data hosting or additional security layers beyond standard WordPress practices.
5. Information Sharing and Disclosure
Your visibility to other users depends on settings configured by the website administrator and individual tournament organizers.
Administrator-Set Visibility:
The website administrator chooses one of four levels of data access for regular users:
- Level 1: You can only see the names of players from tournaments you are currently registered in.
- Level 2: You can see the names of players from tournaments where you are listed as an organizer or are currently registered.
- Level 3 (Default): You can see the names of players from any tournament you have ever participated in.
- Level 4: You can see the names of all players in the website's user database.
Organizer-Set Visibility:
A tournament organizer can make the following choices:
- Make a tournament public or private. Public tournaments may be visible to anyone.
- Display player names as their full "Display Name" or in an obfuscated format (e.g., the first 4 and last 4 characters of the Display Name).
6. Your Rights and Choices
- Edit Your Information: You can access and modify your personal information (name, email, phone) at any time through your user profile editor on the website.
- Control Your Display Name: You are responsible for your "Display Name". You can change it to a nickname or any other name you prefer not to correspond with your real name for enhanced privacy. By default, it is generated from the first and last name you provide during registration.
- Delete Your Account: You have the option to delete your user account. Please be aware that this action is irreversible and will permanently remove all records of your participation in past and current tournaments.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the date at the top of the policy and, in some cases, we may provide you with additional notice (such as adding a statement to our homepage or sending you a notification).
